Folk Group

Do you sing, play the guitar or play another instrument? If so, join the folk group and help lead the congregation in uplifting and upbeat worship music.

Time Commitment

The folk group practices at 5 p.m. Saturdays (1 hour before mass) every other week.

What the Folk Group Does

The folk group was started in 2005 to add variety to the music offered during mass.  The folk group currently has over 15 members and young children are welcome.

At every second Saturday 6 p.m. mass, the folk group sings about 10 songs and mass parts:

  • Processional (entrance song)

  • Gloria

  • Responsorial psalm

  • Alleluia

  • Offertory

  • Holy, Holy, Holy

  • Christ Has Died

  • Great Amen

  • Our Father

  • First and Second Communion songs

  • Recession (exit song)

Current folk group instruments include guitars, upright bass, violin, percussion.  Guest appearances of harmonica and flute are common.
