Mission

We are the parish of Sacred Heart, a family united in baptism and nourished by the Eucharist.  We humbly acknowledge that we are not our own, that we belong to God.

Empowered with grace our strength is in the love and caring that pours forth from God's community.

Aware of our rich Catholic Tradition, we dedicate ourselves to worship, to teaching and to service in our parish and greater community.

Spiritan Priests

Sacred Heart is staffed by priests from the Congregation of the Holy Spirit (C.S.Sp.), which until recently were called Holy Ghost Fathers.  Originally founded in France during the 1600s, they began their international missionary work in North America in 1732.

In 1878, they founded Duquesne University to give poor immigrants opportunities for higher education.
