Lectors read announce the
hymns, read announcements and scripture readings during
mass.

Most Lectors contribute in 1-2
masses per month and have a great deal of flexibility with
regard to which masses and days they serve.

The Lectors of Sacred Heart serve God
during the Mass by bringing His Word to the
congregation. The reverence in their voice and
appearance carries throughout our church so that all
can hear and see. They prepare for each reading by
thoroughly absorbing the context and meaning, so as
to better present the reading with the inspiration
that is intended. Lectors must become comfortable
and proficient at reading and presenting themselves
in front of large groups.
here is no age
requirement to be a Lector, and the younger members
of the parish are encouraged to participate.
